When LeftHand Networks pioneered a new category of storage solutions with its innovative IP SANS and Virtualized Storage, it turned to IGNITE Consulting to help build the category within the market and create demand for its solutions. IGNITE developed a new messaging platform and executed a comprehensive market education and evangelization campaign. In the first six months, IGNITE increased media and trade coverage of the company’s solutions by 55 percent, delivering a 130 percent return on LeftHand’s PR investment. More importantly, by successfully establishing a new product category, LeftHand’s revenue growth outpaced iSCSI market growth in 2007 and 2008 by seven and 20 percentage points, respectively, boosting its market share and increasing its average selling price by 124 percent.

As a result, demand for Spectra Logic’s tape products increased, the new disk product line became Spectra Logic’s fastest growing segment, and Spectra Logic achieved a 400 percent return on its PR investment.

This helped to increase the Company’s valuation and position it for a successful sale to Hewlett-Packard for $360M in cash, reflecting a strong valuation within the existing markets.
