Wendy Yang

Senior Account Director

As an investor relations executive with more than 25 years of investor relations and public market responsibility for small cap developers to industry leaders, Wendy has been a partner with managements and Boards to lead effective change. She has effected positive change from challenging turnaround situations, including resetting expectations, launching new business plans and transformation, and addressing operational crises.

Wendy recognizes that investors want regular, clear and consistent communications from public companies to better understand a company’s value drivers, competitive positioning and strategic roadmap. She effectively communicates the company’s strategic direction, financials, operations, corporate governance and social license with analysts and portfolio managers. In addition, Wendy provides management with effective investor relations that maximizes their time and ensures business goals are clearly understood by the markets for an optimal valuation.

Her experience includes past corporate roles in investor relations from serving as Vice President of Investor Relations at small cap companies and Coeur Mining, and as Director of Investor Relations at Newmont Mining. Career highlights include:

    • Launching a blog for the CEO to discuss market fundamentals, outlook and implications in an under-covered market segment to enhance the knowledge base of investors and shareholders, which engendered a greater following of the stock on Stocktwits.com.
    • Leading an IR program during its transformative three-way merger, defeating a hostile rival, to become the world’s most valuable gold company in the world. (Recognized by PRSA Rocky Mountain with Silver Pick Award for Investor Relations; recognized by Institutional Investor magazine with 1st place U.S. IR Team Award for the metals sector.)
    • Revamping an IR program to introduce a corporate rebrand and new CEO through aligning financial messaging with corporate goals, targeting potential new investors, increasing institutional meetings with senior management, expanding sell side research coverage, and over time,

broadening the buy side institutional base of shareholders.

  • Working closely with the CEO, CFO and investment banker to develop strategic alternatives for a financially distressed small cap, resulting in a successful sale and equity financing to form a stronger, recapitalized newco for shareholders.

Wendy received her MBA from Colorado State University and earned her BA-Journalism degree from the University of Oregon in under three years.
